Hot weather opens the skull of the city, exposing its brain, and its heart of nerves, which sizzles like the wire inside a lightbulb. And there exudes a sour extra human smell that makes the very stone seem flesh-alive, webbed and pulsing. - Truman Capote

About Me

My photo
Natasha De Betak
My fascination with images began at an early age. After a stint at Hungarian Film School and later in NYU, I began making Experimental films. Since I've participated in many solo and group shows. KAAL was exhibited at HERMES Gallery Tokyo, it won many awards including Best Short Fiction Film at Tempere Finland, Carlo Di Palma Award for The Best Cinematography and Sundance Institute chose KAAL among the Ten Best Short Films of the Year. SPEAKING TREE was nominated for The Best Film at MIAAC New York and at the Paris Film Festival. In 2008, Boston Museum of Fine Arts invited me to be part of Art of Being show. During my extensive travel in India, Russia, Mexico and Jamaica, I developed a special passion for few reoccurring themes in my photography. My first series of photographs appears as a collector’s edition book titled NIGHTSHADE. A solo show IMPULSE in Kolkata's amazing Experimenter Gallery was a bliss! Right after I was invited by Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum for their prestigious Artist in Residence program in Boston. Where I conceived many new themes and developed new projects –all in works now.
